Graduate School Summer 2014 Newsletter

Greetings from the Graduate School Team!

I hope your summer is off to a great start. It’s hard to believe it’s already July! The accomplishments of current students and alumni are featured in this issue of the Graduate School enewsletter. The enewsletter can be viewed at: https://enewsletters.k-state.edu/graduateschool/.

As evident from the articles, K-State continues to attract talented graduate students and prepare them well for their future. Congratulations to each individual featured and best wishes for continued success. In June, Dr. Chwen Sheu, the Paul Edgerley chair in business administration and professor and head of the department of management, and I had the opportunity to interact with K-State alumni in Taipei and Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The alumni were excited about their K-State experiences, especially the mentoring and support they had received. Learning about their successes and their pride in being K-State alumni was one of many rewarding experiences during the trip. I look forward to visiting with more K-State alumni while in Portland and Corvallis later this month.

As always, I am eager to learn of the successes of our alumni and current students. Please keep in contact via email or visit me and your mentors while on campus. Your continued support of K-State graduate students by serving as mentors, providing internship or research opportunities, contributing to scholarships and fellowships, sharing information about job opportunities, and all the other ways you support K-State is critical as we work together to achieve K-State’s 2025 vision of becoming a top 50 research institution.

Go Cats!
